Are CBD topicals good for my skin?

Dr. Nima Gharavi, a dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon in the Cedars-Sinai Cosmetic Dermatology Program, says CBD may play a role in hydrating the skin and have anti-inflammatory effects. Using a product that contains CBD might help with treating dry skin or certain inflammatory skin disorders.

Since CBD has significant anti-inflammatory properties, it may be able to help reduce swelling, pain, and redness from existing breakouts, or irritation from skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Currently, the treatment for these conditions requires the use of topical steroids also called corticosteroids. These are not recommended for long term use. As a non-steroidal natural alternative, CBD has shown in preliminary research to be effective and more gentle on the skin. It has also shown to be an effective ingredient in support of skin hydration.

Through the use of CBD topicals you may see less redness overall, and in skin diseases, including eczema and psoriasis, it may also be effective in tamping down itch, possibly because CBD creams may help reduce dryness. In fact, an increasing number of doctors are recommending CBD as a maintenance topical for certain skin conditions

As in our products, CBD is most effective when combined with other skin benefiting ingredients. Some of those ingredients are Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Avocado Oil and other natural moisturizers or moisturizing factors. This combination and the addition of modern scientific advances in the area of nanotechnology and an increased understanding of the dermis and microbiome can create a product far superior to those found in the market today. All while being gentle on the skin and in balance with the environment.

CBD can now be found in sunscreens, masks, lip balms, moisturizers, face creams and ingestibles. When derived from the hemp plant, it is completely non-euphoric and has no psychoactive effects. Put simply, it will have no mind-altering effects or enter your bloodstream. It will not cause you to fail a drug test. CBD is being added due to its strength as an ingredient in your beauty routine.
